RE: Windows update question?

I had the same problem before, it's a known bug from Microsoft, however, I don't remember how I fixed it, but I know I did do some research for this.

I did a research for you and found a forum that talks about this problem. One of the person has the solution. You can try the solution that he gives and hopefully it'll fix your problem too.

, once installed you go to run -cmd -and type qfecheck at the dos prompt and you will get a list of all the hotfixes. and it will tell you if it needs to be reinstalled.

You can also try Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit = http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

put these sites into your Trusted Zone in IE and allow them as exceptions in your firewall

The way I have mine set is to only notify me that updates are availiable, but to not download them automaticaly. Then I can check to be sure I get just the ones I want. I then click on "custom", and after the updates have been downloaded I look them over to see which ones I want, then disconnect from the internetnet, disable firewall and anti-virus program, and then install the updates I want, and click "Don't tell me again" on the ones I don't want, and then re-enable the firewall and anti-virus programs before reconnecting to the net. = http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306525

Also Check to be sure pc clock-date is correct.
