Interview Question in SQL Server Configurations

Interview Question :: Are the following tools legal

Hi,

As a network security analyser I need to crack various networks, email e.t.c. to expose security floors. But I've never done anything illegal and I don't wish to start.

I was just checking that all of the following tools were legal:

Brutus for e-mail, telnet, etc. passwords

Cain & Abel for LM- and NTLM-hashed Windows passwords, Wireless Zero Configuration passwords, PWL files, RDP files, SQL hashes, and more

and

NetBIOS Auditing Tool for Windows share passwords

I'm living in the UK so don't want any American laws.

Thanks,

MTI

If your client is allowing you to use them on their network and is paying you for it, if there is a legal issue, they bear the responsibility.

If you are who you say you are, what are you asking questions like this for in a family orientated questions and answers forum? I might be dim, but I'm not as dim as I sim.

If that is your job and you have permission, go ahead. I do it all of the time on a business network to test the security. I'm paid to try to break in to their system. So, have fun!

Check your company policy. By the way, 4 months ago you were wondering how to over clock your processor!? And a while back you were claiming to be a professional programmer wondering how to work with Linux, now you claim to be a network security "analyser" Dude, if you truly are what you claim to be, you wouldn't need to be asking questions on Yahoo Answers, you'd look them up yourself. You're not fooling / impressing anyone.

As a network security analyzer you should know the answer to these questions.

So i think you need to go back to school and don't use a computer the next 10 years.

3 months ago you were an army cadet.

if you don't want any American laws so you just base it in UK laws.. just review the policy of the UK and also the policies of the company that you're working with..

It just depend if you will use it in illegal ways..

Thanks...

If you are a network security analyst, you'd know the answer to these questions.

I think you are looking for a way to hack or worse.

I hope others see you realistically as well.
