I have a technical Software problem regrading my New Laptop...........

I have Toshiba Satellite A series.

Its have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I installed Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2005 - which is running
completely and accurate.

But I am unable to install - any kind of databse sever system in it.
like - SQL SERVER 2000, / SERVER 2005 , Oracle 9i etc,.
I tried thrice but any one unable to install.
So I need ur help.

Please confirm me which databse server are working
in .NET and with VISTA platform....

I just wants to know about the database which can run on VISTA.
I also search this on the intternet and microsoft website....

I got just information only one that - VISTA support only SQL SERVER
2005 SP2 version for databse and Oracle 10g Developer edition only.

I'm a newbie to this web design stuff. I"m trying to make room by uninstalling unused programs from my new Vista Computer. I was given for free the Microsoft Expression Studio package and downloaded a bunch of things to go with it {some of which i'm not even sure i should of downloaded} Well anyway, my computer is only a couplo of weeks old and it has something called Microsoft SQL server 2005, Microsoft sql server native client, sql server setup support files and sql server vss writer. It's taking up a lot of space! Would it be ok to uninstall this if i'm using the new Microsoft Expression Studio package???

in my site there will be three types of users section.
Administrator, User, Employee. All 3 will have different areas (as u have understood by its name).

I am moving from VB 6 to Visual Studio 2005.
How can I write code which is path independent (for MS Access) and server-independent (for SQL Server) i.e where the user can enter the path of the database and the SQL Server at runtime, which will be passed to the connection string.

i am very interested in microsoft windows2003,visual studio team edition 2005 and sql server 2005 enterprise edition but it require me to pay 100 dollars to ship it to my intended place,but i know some other guys here already have downloaded it
and some software trial version like vsts2005 and win2003 r2 is require me to input my address, i input it,but it reply i have to reply in form of alphebetical and number only, what can i do with that, how can a given address in the world expressed in only number and letters

I am trying to find a recommended Book to help me teach myself solid Windows (not web) development practices and clean coding using the C# programming language. What I hope to gain is a good understanding of basic programming practices (e.g. using conditional loops, etc.) using the C# language in the Visual Studio environment. I already have Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2000 installed on my laptop and have created some basic forms (very basic) using VB. Any suggestions for a good book that will help me achieve these objectives would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Whenever I try to connect my web form to SQL server database using the data linking properties of Visual Studio .Net, I always encounter the error that the SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
