i have completed MCA in coimbatore thru distance education. now i came to know that the plenty oppurtunities are there for SQL Server. so i would like to know the details of institute, place, fees.

The server with trial edition has SP2 installed. But the retail version CD is just plain raw SQL server 2005 - without SPs. When I try to upgrade the database server as Microsoft spells out, it gives an error 'Missing component error'. Can I go ahead and uninstall all the SPs and try to upgrade at that point? Any help would be great.

I am trying to import a file into sql server 2005 from excel but it has a whole lot of hidden special characters. They seem to be mostly hex A0. It wont import because the data doesnt match existing foreign keys because it has the extra characters. I've tried using the trim functions and saving to csv format but this doesnt work. I can go into ultra edit and replace all the A0s and other special characters but I have to do this regularly. Is there a quick way of getting rid of any invisible characters?

I already installed the 9i and SQL Server 2005, with the appropriate services stopped (set to manual). I am planning to install 10g on the same machine and set the appropriate services to manual. Can I have them all in one machine?
