SQL Server 2000 Interview Questions 

At work: We have one server (Win 2000) called Web2 and it has the purchasing program on it. We have another server (Win 2000) called DBase1 which has SQL 2000. We have another server (Win 2003)called DBAPS which has SQL 2005. We had web2 pointing to dbase1 sql and changed it to dbaps sql.

Our problem is that throughout the day web2 will stop pointing to dbaps and we will have to reset the iis in dos and then it starts back up and is working. A few time it would start pointing back to dbase1.

What is going on? Does anybody have any idea? This did this before by losing connection to dbase1 and we had to reset it several times. We had a programmer come in and he fixed it, but he has since left and now we are not going to get him back for a while. We are trying to figure out what is going on. He did something in some of the .asp pages to fix this.....I am not a programmer, so I don't know!

iam making a project using asp.net, vb.net & sql server 2000 as database for my college.
now i want that to show number of users who visit my website i.e. i want to see the visitor counter number..
pls tell me in details about how to do this step by step..

Me and my dad have a windows 2000 server and it has a 6 gig hd. We need to do sql on it and when we tryed to install the software it said there was a minimum hardware requirment error. the two errors are cpu speed and hd space. My dad bought it off ebay so It dident come with disks to reinstall it. Is there anyway to mirror the hd to a 40 gig drive i have and then bypass the bluescreen of death and still have it boot in my windows vista computer? Can your ansowers uncostly please.... Im a tech guru so i dont mind if you use tech terms

I don't have the source code. Now I need the table information. Is it possible to get the information of the tables from the MS SQL server 2000 database.

is it advisable to use Microsoft SQL Database Engine (MSDE 2000) in a client server appilication? I will have to use 6 clients...

I am Web Application Developer using C#.NET. I really want to start a new career using Sun's J2EE. What is do i need to be a Web Application Developer using J2EE?. Being a good Web Developer using .NET requires ASP.NET, SQL Server 2000, IIS .. etc. Those are all Microsoft package and what the market is expecting from a .NET developer. Now, What does the market expect from me as J2EE ? Can anyone help? I am lost and I don't know the exact steps to get started.

Actually the softwares in our compnay (like Accounting System) are written in C# for windows plateform, now there is a plan by management to migrate from windows enviroment to linux, therefore we need to run these software on linux, now how can we migrate all our windows based softwares to linux, source code for these software is available. And also SQL Server 2000 is running at backend also suggest the alternative for database interactivity.

I can only access the frontend application and the server name, how can i find how the data is gathered from other servers which is displayed to me, as I want to understand the flow of data from different applications.

Xp environment, SQL 2000 backend, ASP frontend.

I have a sql server 2005 and want to move the database from the SQL 2005 onto SQL express which i have installed on another system. Is it possible to move databases between these 2 servers??? I know you can between SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 express but i want to be sure you can move databases between 2005 SQL standard and 2005 SQL express before attempting anything

I'm using Micorosft Access 2003 as a front-end and MSDE 2000 (Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - Desktop Edition) as a back-end. Both combo boxes are on the same form, and their source tables are already linked. For instance, combo box 1 comes from a table that stores different types of fruits; e.g. 'Cirtus'. If 'Citrus' is selected, then combo box 2 should only show a list of citrus fruits; e.g. Orange, Lime, Grapefruit, etc. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

i would like a stored procedure to read a field from an access form, and use it in an sql statement, then return the result to a field on the same access form. i am using micorosft sql server 2000 (msde 2000) and micorosft access 2003.
