We have all legal licenses for both products. I am looking at loading the same software onto a disaster recovery machine which will sit dormant until our main server one day fails. I will then boot the "dormant server" load the previous days backup and then continue running our company. Is it legal to have one license on 2 copies of the same software?

I am taking over an environment that has no disaster recovery and very little budget to make things happen. I am interested in hearing different approaches to backup of this environment especially from people with experience handling DBs of large size.

I was running microsoft accounting trial and the system died. after a hard drive recovery i was able to get back the old SQL directory with the folders called "MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ" and "MSSQL.1" I am 90% sure that I just need the data from "MSSQL.1". How do i reimport this information back into microsoft SQL so that i can run Microsoft accounting?

Accidently i deleted my sql database and the path of the sql server installation. i dont have any backup also. Is there any possiblity to bring that .mdf file back.pls help me

the 3 separate recovery scripts need to be able to drop all tables, create all tables again, and populate them with sample data respectively. Please provide step by step instructions as i'm not sure how to even begin :)

I just installed SQL Server Express on my laptop, and im trying to recover a database from work. I have the backup file, and i have one thats scripted, but when i try and restore it or make a new database, i get this error
Create Database permission denied in database 'master'
does anyone know how to go around permissions or fix this error?

I am a college grad (finance major), now pursuing a career in the IT field. My title currently is a 'software analyst'. Work with MS SQL 2000/2005 for clients. This mainly includes performing sql backups and restores, migration and setting up disaster recovery scenarios. Also perform installs and upgrades on occasions. Would like to know what my prospect of landing a junior or mid level DBA is? Thanks much.
